Does anyone know if I can buy a triangular punch for some 28ga. material. I am trying to punch a triangle and bend the triangle tab back 90 degrees all in one motion. If you know where I can get this, let me know. All help is appreciated.

I'm not sure what you mean? There are sheet metal notchers available, but I don't think they bend the metal once you notch it - this would have to be done as a seperate step.

What are you trying to do?

Come on Bud, we all know with a dull notcher and some space between the blade and sides and it will bend the metal. :D :D Just kidding. What you are looking for is a stamp die of some sort if you want it to do several tasks at once.

I not sure how big of a triangle you need to do? Also how big do the returns or flanges need to be? Do you want to stamp pre cut blanks, strips or coil ? What type of material , is it painted ? How many do you want make , small run or mass produce? Do you need to have any holes in returns for fastners? I have some back ground in this kind of stuff , just let me know . I'll be glad to help.

The size of the punch will be 3/4" wide and it will be used on a 29ga. steel bucket with a painted coating. The production run will small quantity of about 1000 at first, but may increase to as much as 10000/month in the future. This is in the beginning stages and we are about to start doing some prototypes here within a couple of months once we get all of the tooling in place. I greatly appreciated everyones help with my questions.
