Hello, I am new to this sight but not metal working. I am a full time blacksmith and fabricator doing high end metalwork. My questions for this forum is that of basic sheet metal forming for the purposes of contertops, hoods, and similar house jewelry. I have made several basic copper and stainless countertops that looked quite good. I even did a marine edge that turned a corner with a brake. I am either looking for literature, advice, or a continued dialog that will have info on the many uses of a brake (radius bending, how to adjust the brake, and more than basic folding), bead rolling (I assume this is marine edges are done), and welding sheet together and blending back together. I have seen a great many website offering these services but I just can't seem to find info on how to do it. In the blacksmithing world there is a vast amount of people willing to share info, I am hoping to find the same here. Thanks.
Hi Guy
I'm new to sheet metal forming and bending to some degree.
I came across this book on the web.
Its pretty expensive $ $ $
But from what I've read its like the Bible of Sheet Metal Forming.
Here's the title & author:
" METAL FORMING: FUNDAMENTALS AND APPLICATIONS "
By: TAYLAN ALTAN
Hardcover.
I went to Amason.com and the only thing they have is: Good Used ones.
Prices start @: $111.06 to $144.37
Pretty expensive if you ask me.
It must be good. I'm goin' to try and hunt it down at my libuary.
Take Care
GOD BLESS
