first I want to say hello to everyone out there, great site, now for my problem, I am a field installer not a shop guy, Im having some problems in trade school with layout so Im hoping you guys might be able to help
Exmaple
Lets say we got a change cheek 90" 12x6 to 8x6 with a 8 throat, the problem Im having is findg the cut sizes for:
cheek
throat
heel
Can some please help me figure this out and show me an the easy way of figureing this stuff out?, thanks a million |

| another question, Flat one side, or centerline, and once you have the cheek, if it's radis throat/heel, use a pee wee tape. or do you also need to know the basic triangulation for the change on the cheek?(assuming radias) |

With the information given I'd say your cheek size is 20x16. Just simply add the throat size and each side of the cheek. This does not account for any type of seam allowance or duct connection allowance. If the elb. is changing in the cheek only your throat and heel should remain constant at 6. Like tinman9765 said I would also just use a pee wee tape to measure around the the throat and heel. ( i am also assuming radius)There are other ways to obtain the throat and heel strechout but I would suggest the above method. Hope this helps.  |

| Can't you go to school an extra day per week? I did this 1 night a week and it got me through. I'm sure if you are in a apprenticeship your union instructor will give you extra help. Also you can get trade books at used book stores,that give you other ways to figure out stuff. Maybe you can ask to work in the shop for awhile. |
