Confused Hi all,was wondering what to use to speed up the patina process on my copper projects.Bird houses,weather vains,ect. Winters here leave me with alot of down time, tring to figure something cool to make for extra $$ Opps,back to the patina question. Looking for something cheap, if thats possible, or the OLD SCHOOL way. I've gottalottalearnin'todo.Thanks

I seem to recall somewhere that the "old school" way of getting a good patina on copper was to use hot cow's urine. Mr. Green Not sure that I'd want to go that route, but a sculptor friend who works in bronze swears by it.

I believe that the green patina that occurs naturally is largely copper carbonate. However, an attractive green patina can be created using dilute muriatic acid to produce the chloride.
