sales.......years ago the "old man" laid out his own fittings and if they were complicated enough he would save a pattern.
No computers, CAD or CNC. Maybe he had an old handbook that showed him how to lay-out some weird fitting. I save
most of my sq.x rnd.patterns. Have one for a 45° rectangular everyone uses..Saves a little time.

| The 'old man' you speak of best describes me. No computer programs, no plasma cutter, no electric power besides lights, lockformer, and occasionally the spot welder. I keep the Budzik books nearby for the weird fittings. |

Me too I worked in one shop that had a kid on the plasma table - and there was no doubt that he could pound out the work for the guys...but when they were in the middle of burning a job and someone would call in a fitting, often it was as simple as a transition that was measured upside down and needed to be redone - it wasn't happening (but the boss was proud of him) |

| I purchased most of my books from ebay or used book stores from the area. Or you might try abebooks.com |

| use poster paper ,or thin cardboard and scotch tape if you are not very experienced in laying out fittings.Don't try and lay out something complicated till you have it down on paper. You will get it in time. |
