| You can figure weight by the surface area fairly easily. Anyone have a chart for him? |

No problem....just install Open Office which supports Vista and its free. I run this office suite on many pcs and it actually runs quite well. Mostly it will run that Excel program that person was going to send you. Here is Open Office link:

Microsoft has a free Excel viewer, just the same as they have free viewers for practically any MS format. But without an ability to edit, spreadsheets are kind of pointless.
Open Office is good. If you have a *nix machine then you can use a few more free alternatives.
Weightwise per square-foot:
30 guage = .5 pounds per square-foot
28 guage = .625 pounds per square-foot
26 guage = .75 pounds per square-foot
24 guage = 1 pounds per square-foot
22 guage = 1.25 pounds per square-foot
20 guage = 1.5 pounds per square-foot |

I have a Excel spreadsheet that I use for pricing raw stock in the flat if you would like a copy .
You plug in cost/lb , length , and width and it computes cost per piece for all the gages for SST , Alum , Galv. CRS , and Copper . Also computes Lbs. for Each size length and width you enter .
This is a great site by the way . |

| I'll look into why we can not upload .xls files. It might be a security thing? Sorry about that! |
