Hello every one,
Excellent site! I've been in the trade on and off for a little over two years doing HVAC as well as some sheet metal siding and roofing. Curranly I work at a shop that mosly does refrigeration (HVAC/R), and I'm a part time collage student. For the longest time I've been trying very dilligently to get into my town's local Sheet Metal Union, and have not had much luck. Ever since I set foot in the first sheet metal shop I worked in, I knew I would want to make a carreer out of it, and I still do. I've had no formal training, just straight up work experience in various shops. We have a good Sheet Metal Union here in town, with a killer appretiship program, unfortualy their hasn't been a huge demand for new appretices, and its been hard as hell to get in, but I'm hellbent on getting in. That's why I'm taking a few classes (welding and mathmatics for trades) to help me out.
To all seasoned tinners out there, I very much so admire you all, it is my goal to get to your level! And hats off to you Bud, this is a killer website, I know were to go to for good advice!
CHEERS,
