I am looking for advise on hydraulic brakes, I have been looking at 10ft 14 or 16 ga. I have a small roofing and sheet metal business and I do the majority of the metal forming myself in the evening and on rain days. I can't put out the money for an auto brake at this time so that is why I am thinking about the hydraulic, since it is easy for one person to use and it is consistant with bends.
If anyone has some pros and cons I would like to hear them.

I have several used brakes! Autobrakes, hydraulic, and hydraulic assist. Let me know what you are wanting and budget!

Roper Whitney makes hydraulic brakes, too. You'll find used one on online auction sites for equipment but you take a lot of risk buying them. They may be cheaper in the short term but they lack utility and a problem one is expensive.
Call Roper Whitney and see what it takes to give the Autobrake 2000 a whirl. One of our old partners just upgraded their roofing company with one for around $50,000 delivered. (More power to them if they think its so easy to sheet metal work with roofers...) I know we paid more many moons ago but it has since repaid the shop two to three fold with its utility. Your mileage will vary. |
