Hello -
I am a printmaker who needs a shear to cut 16 ga. copper plate with max dimensions of 11 x 14 inches. Usually, most printmakers use something like a Pexto 137 but this item is too large/heavy for moving into my small make-shift shop (my apartment!) and I don't know if I can find a reliable used model.

Are there any other options for me? A benchtop shear? It has to cut the plate very flat and clean.

I'd appreciate your advice.

aslanivo.........Since you're going to start with a full sheet 36"x96" Probably the smallest you can get..Don't see how you can get by without a 36" shear.
A local sheet metal shop would probably shear it for you at a cost per hour
shop time..Shouldn't take 30 min. to shear a sheet..20 pcs. per sheet.
Probably charge a 1 hr. min. shop time..Is that 16 ga. or 16 oz. ??

Second the above. Have a local shop cut it for you.

"Benchtop" shear options are limited. A search for Diacro on eBay will turn up some small shears with big price tags.
