| I hold in my hands a "manual" stapled together that I printed out from some internet resource. It is a poor quality scan and I was wondering if anyone new where I can find it. It is titled "Profit Profiles in Hand Brakes (Bulletin HS-66)" by Dreis & Krump. If you know of another resource to explain leaf and bar adjustments that would be much appreciated too. I was going to give a copy to a friend but I can't find the original file on my computer! |

I noticed that our Roper-Whitney hand brake has another adjustment in the center to pull the ends in and out together at the same time. This is important as adjusting the ends in and out independently for the depth of the leading edge doesn't align the middle of the blade. Over time and abuse, the center of the blade can lose its alignment.
Your brake diagram doesn't seem to show the box for doing it or the arms so it must not have that one. It looks like its limited to top and bottom torsion bars. |

| I do have this in pdf form and is 3.5 mb in size.....much easier to read !! Matt....this manual is for Chicago brake....and I assume will work for Tennsmith also. After reading the Tennsmith manual on adjustments they are very similar. The bending nose or leading edge is adjustable by the large truss nut in center. The main concern is to start the adjustment routine in the correct order. If any one would like file just pm me and I will glad to send it to your email. |

| Stickman,... I apoligize...I have a poor quality PRINTOUT of a scanned copy. The link was much better than what my printer printed out. But, if you have a higher resolution copy I would be much obliged. |
