I know this is a easy question but I am having trouble in learning to calculate a duct elbow offset. The exam doesnt give the K factor just the offset amount and centre line radius measurement. Does anyone have a picture in how to calculate the lenght of duct required between 2 off set elbows.

the square root of the sum of the offset squared plus the length squared ex: offset=9" 9x9=81"/length= 12" 12x12=144"
81"+144"=225" square root of 255"= 15" ( pythagoras theorem ) how to find the hypotenuse of a right angle
