| We are in the process of purchasing a tdf machine, not a tdc. Now there is a 12 roll tdf and a 16 roll tdf. I am told that i could snap the corners in and not even hammer over or crimp the corners on with the 16 roll. But with the 12 roll i would still have to hammer or crimp them on or they would fall out. My main question is does the 16 roll really allow you to do that. The 16 roll is approx 10 grand more but i feel it would be worth if they would just snap in. |

There are no true "snap in" corners for TDC or TDF. 
It is all for marketing. Of course they do snap into place, but they all need to be reinforced by either zip screw, crimping with a tool, crimp by machine or even a hammer to ensure that they hold together. |

| I talked to Flagler's grandson last year at AHR Expo in Dallas and they have moved from a 12 or so station TDF to a 16 or so station TDF because the lesser tends to leave the metal wavy. |

| Actually, the Engel 1640 16 station TDF puts snaplock dimples in the inside of the turn under hem portion of the flange. The corners do snap in, but it is recommended that you secure them, as with any roll on flange. I use to assemble them, so I hope this helps! |

| I've hammered a couple of million pounds of duct in my day and my experiance has taught me is to hammer on the corners, and you still may lose a few in shipping. Also have plenty of ductmate and corners for field alterations. you'll thank yourself later when you don't have to make another fitting, just alter what you have. Tinman101 |
