We are interested in possibly purchasing a coil line. The one we are looking at is a full coiline with liner, tdc and everything. I am just starting to look into this now, so some of my questions may be stupid to some of you. One of my questions for now is can you load the coil of metal on to the cradles with a forklift or do you need a crane? Another one is how big of a piece of duct can you make with one, or is there variables in there to determine that? Im sure i will have more gimme a few days hahah Thanks

What you need is a Mansaver attachment for your forklift. Your local machinery dealer should have more info and brochures on this item. Also, make sure that your forklift has the capacity to safely lift the coils.

It all depends on what coil line that you are looking at. If it is the IPI line, then you are unlimited to how big of duct you can to make. You can create a wrap around, L shaped or even 4 piece ducts to best suit your needs or requirements. Let me know if you have any further questions. We're here to help.

Another method a lot customers use are nylon straps. Using straps allows the operator to maneuver the coil easier into the bearing blocks, but it all depends on your lift and shop layout. Your material handling is one of the most important in any coil line! If I can help, please let me know... I will be in Mass. in two weeks!

one of the ones we are looking at is actually in the classifieds, the 1978 welty way,i am supposed to be looking at it this friday, so im not really sure of the set up. but i was trying to figure out how big the duct can be if it has to run threw the pittsburg sideways the you would have to be restricted on the size, or so i would think.

My new Engel line, minus the liner sets up in 2 weeks. If you have any questions you want me to ask the tech guys, let me know...Our line will be loaded with an overhead crane because of low overhead clearance in our new building. Our current 4' cut-to-length line, we load 9500#coil with 10,000# forklift and nylon straps(taller building).

your lockformer will probably accomodate a 120" + allowances for locks, 1-3/4"= 121-3/4"

given the age of the machine, you are probably limited to L-shape duct.

hope this helps
