Post subject:Imported rotary machines

Greetings,
Was wondering if any of you folks had used or purchased any of the imported rotary machines lately.
There are at least 2 on ebay from suppliers and I recieved a flier in the mail from a third distibuter. All of these machines run about 200 bucks max.
They are a takeoff on the old Pexto 622 machine with all the combinations of rolls.
The reason for the question is, I teach a small tinsmithing class once a year and most of the students ask where they can get the rotary machines at!
Since most of them would probably would only be using 28 gauge tinplate
or 16 oz. copper the machine doesn't have to be bullet proof, but I would like for it to be decently made.
Any commits would be appreciated.

| I bought one on ebay about 7 or 8 years ago. It came from a company in California but I think the machine was made in china or japan. Any way it works great up to 24 guage. Some one ran 22ga through it and cracked it. We have since welded it and it works just fine again. But you should roll your pieces gradually with a little more pressure each time so as to not stress it and break it. |

i don t know where can i buy it!, but im interest in those machines too, can you share this info, because i really have to know where can i buy it !!

Check with your local machine distributor too, they sometimes have these from auction or shops they buy out. I picked up several from Gladwin Machinery in Menomonee Falls WI. I would not recommend buying imports through internet sales especially international sales unless you're very familiar with who you're buying from - there is a lot of scams and junk out there and you never know who to return it to if it's broken when you get it...
You can also always ask/ request for a reputable distributor to contact you on the Classifieds with anything they might have available. |

Guys,
Finally got one of the machines. NOT what I expected. If your're into just beading or edging mostly straight stuff it would be o.k. I guess. but for making tankards , mugs, and tinware, I'll pass.
The burring wheels and the edge guide, ( the piece that sets how far in you can run the metal ) just were'nt made like the old machinery. But on a good note I was able to get my money back (less shipping)!
