I will try my best to do a modern version of this old lamp ,all by spinning
and i will post a step by step picture of the process ,ill do them in steel for now

I am not sure to find the telephone cord type wire any one have an idea?

Bazz, cool project! About the wire, seems if you couldn't find cloth covered single wire, you could at least strip a single wire out of a piece of romex, wrap it around a pencil for the coil, slide it off the end and Presto! you have it. You're probably way ahead of me here tho'. I look forward to your posts on this.

Thanks ,i was thinking about it i think the wire will be made for decoration only .the power line will run in the center
i am afraid that if i use a solid copper wire it will work harden and brake with all the movement it is going to have ,ill go shopping and see what i can find

this is a good project to show alot of spinning operations i use steel 20 gage , wood mandrel for the first few one and scissor tool (tool with roller)
