I stumbled across this published tinner’s song as I sat reading a 1908 copy of The Metal Worker that I hadn’t got to read yet (that I’m aware of anyhow) This song caught my eye and sad to say my vocal cords as well …give it a try yourself…

In The Tin Shop

(With apologies to the original songster)

The noise is always loudest
In the tinshop;
The boss is always proudest
In the tinshop.

His work is made the strongest,
It’s sure to last the longest,
Customers’ pleased doggonedest,
In the tinshop;

Botches are made never
In the tinshop;
The work is done best ever
In the tinshop;

The tinware is the brightest
The seams are surely tightest
And the profits not the lightest
In the tinshop;

This rhyme may seem the queerest
In the tinshop;
Tho’ sentiments not the rarest
In the tinshop;

There the tinner’s never bluest,
For his heart is ever truest,
‘cause he knows just what to doest
In the tinshop;
